FABTEK FAQ
Q:
Why does Fabtek use Stainless Steel for the construction of its tanks, pumps and accessories?
A:
Stainless Steel is used because of its excellent corrosion resistance which holds up extremely well in difficult boiler room environments.
Q:
But isn’t Stainless Steel expensive?
A:
While Stainless Steel is more expensive per pound, its inherent corrosion resistance and tensile strength allow for the use of slightly less thick material resulting in fewer pounds of material being used for the same capacity tank. Mild Steel tanks must be made from thicker and heavier material to build in a corrosion allowance in order to have any kind of a reasonable lifespan. Mild steel tanks also must be painted and/or otherwise coated to slow down the corrosion process resulting in additional labor costs not incurred in the manufacture of Stainless Steel Tanks. This allows Fabtek to be able to offer Stainless Steel Tanks at very competitive prices.
Q:
Are Fabtek products made in the USA?
A:
Yes. Fabtek employs local fabricators, welders, machinists, pipefitters and assemblers to manufacture our boiler feed and condensate return units at our Plant in Sandwich, IL. Many of the accessories required for these systems are also manufactured right here in our CNC machine shop.
Q:
What is the warranty on Fabtek Tanks?
A:
Fabtek offers a 20 year warranty against corrosion on our Stainless Steel Tanks. The Stainless Steel condensate pumps manufactured by Fabtek include a 5 year warranty against corrosion of the SS pump components.
